Youth Group
(6th-12th)

These are just a few of the events that our youth group does throughout the year.

Devos

Our youth group has a devotional every Sunday evening. They’ll sing songs, study the Bible, and fellowship together.

After the devotional, the teens will have a meal and play some games. It’s a great time to learn more about God and make some great friends!

Service Projects

Our church youth group is involved in various service projects throughout the year that benefit our community. Some of these projects include working at a local food pantry and helping the City of Oregon with cleanup projects.

Summer Camp

NWOCYC summer camp is one of the best places to unplug from the world, make new friends, and have the best summer of your life!

Each day at camp there are multiple Bible classes, chapel services, devotionals, and an evening fire circle.

In addition to Bible studies, every day is jam-packed with activities such as swimming in an Olympic-sized pool and enjoying fantastic arts and crafts projects.

You can also play kickball, baseball, water slides, volleyball, soccer and any other sport you can think of!

Also, we cannot forget to mention the wonderful food that our chefs prepare every day for us! The food here is absolutely delicious! In case you need some snacks during the day, the camp also has a canteen that is open during the day so that you will be able to get some extra energy for all the activities you will be doing!

Camp is an unforgettable experience that you will remember for the rest of your life. This is definitely something you should not miss!

Cedar Point Trip

The trip to Cedar Point for the youth group is a lot of fun. On a Saturday morning, we gather early to eat our fill of donuts, then take the church bus to Sandusky, Ohio for a fun weekend away!

The trip lasts several nights, so your teen is able to spend quite a bit of time at Cedar Point. It is a fantastic place for teens to make new friends, ride all the exciting rides, eat delicious food, and just have a great time!

In the evenings, they spend time playing games, eating snacks, and having a good time!

Christian Youth Conference

The Christian Youth Conference (“CYC”) in Pigeon Forge is one of the highlights of the year for many of our teens. We load up the church bus and head out for a long weekend of fun and fellowship with other Christians from all over the area in Pigeon Forge.

Trying to explain CYC to someone who’s never been is like trying to explain fireworks shows to someone who’s never seen any. You can say that there will be colors and lights, but you can’t really convey the excitement.

The teens at CYC stay in rustic cabins, make new friends, and attend an awesome rally where they can worship Jesus with song and praise.

Corn Maze

The corn maze is a fun event in the fall that teens look forward to every year. It’s a great chance for them to hang out with their youth group friends.

The teens enjoy donuts and cider as they make their way through the maze. This is definitely a unique experience that shouldn’t be missed.

Teensgiving

Every year our church’s youth group hosts a dinner for our young people called Teensgiving.

It takes place around the time of Thanksgiving. We’ll eat smoked turkey and each bring a side. It is a great opportunity for teens to enjoy a great meal and then have a devotional, followed by games and fun.

Winter Camp

In December, the youth group goes to Winter Camp for fun and fellowship.

It’s a Christian youth retreat that takes place at Michigan Christian Youth Camp and gives the teens a chance to learn about God and each other through studying the Bible’s teachings.

In addition to serious Bible study, teens enjoy hiking in the woods, singing songs, and playing outdoor games. It’s a great way to spend time with friends, make new memories, and discover more about God through fellowship with their peers.

Lock-In

What’s a lock-in? It’s a ton of fun!

You get to hang out with your friends all night and stuff your faces with snacks (and not just healthy snacks either…mmmm…Cheetos). It’s like a big party all night long.

What’s the best part? You get to stay up all… night… long! Sleep is an option for some, but you don’t have to if you’re up for it!

Walleye Game

In case you haven’t been to a walleye game, you don’t know what you’re missing. It’s such an awesome experience for a teen and his or her friends from the youth group. Make sure you bundle up, though, because it’s cold!
