Global Outreach

We believe in sharing God’s work and blessings both locally and globally. For many years, we’ve supported missionaries around the world and in the U.S.

In addition to supporting our full-time missionaries financially, we also believe we should do some of the mission work ourselves. As we have in the past and continue to do currently, we work locally in the Toledo area and across the U.S. Along with other churches, we also minister to those less fortunate in Mexico.

Here are some things we support on a global scale.

Africa

Our church provides financial support to Dr Moses Akpanudo, who is a missionary in Nigeria. He founded the Obong Christian School which has educated thousands of young people across Nigeria and other surrounding countries since it was established.

He is also the founder of Obong University which is a private university with four-year programs that is located in Obong Ntak, in the Akwa Ibom state of Nigeria.

Dr. Moses is the director of the schools, who worked with his Nigerian countrymen and friends in the U.S. to achieve university status for Obong. It was achieved on May 2, 2007.

Computer Science, Microbiology, and Biochemistry are among the degrees offered by the Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences. The University offers degrees in English Studies and Religious Studies in its Faculty of Arts and Humanities. The university also has a Faculty of Management and Social Sciences, which offers degrees in Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, Mass Communication, Marketing, Sociology, Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution, Public Administration, International Relations, and Political Science.

Hope for Haiti

Our church also supports Hope for Haiti. It is one of the most trusted organizations working to reduce poverty in Haiti, Hope for Haiti is focused on providing support and partnership for the Haitian people every single day.  Their mission is to improve the quality of life for the Haitian people, particularly children.

Peru

Our church supports Joe and Laura Beth Derr’s annual trips to Lima, Peru, in an effort to strengthen the church there.

Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Organization

Our church also supports the Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Organization based out of Nashville, Tennessee. It is the mission of this organization to provide support to communities across the United States when natural disasters happen. Our teens have helped pack items in the past to ensure items are ready when disasters strike.

Local Churches

We also support local churches and the preachers of those churches. It has been our privilege to support Dale Duverney in his work to strengthen the church in Rogers City, Michigan. We have also provided support to smaller congregations, such as the Bowling Green church in Northwest Ohio, in order to be an encouraging beacon to the area.
